The holiday season is madness, and I know I’m not the only one who feels this way! With the dawning of each holiday season, comes the pressure of trying to get everything perfect. In my case, with motherhood, it seems this pressure has only gotten worse. Each year I try to find the perfect presents for my family and friends. Usually I try to knock all of this out by December 1st to beat the craziness. Then it’s the tree and decorations. Next, the cookies and baked treats. Throw in the dozens of holiday events and programs and by the time Christmas actually rolls around I’m usually too exhausted to really enjoy it.
A few years ago, I realized that I needed to slow down on the holiday crazy. Instead of spending hours looking for the perfect gift, or sending something impersonal from Amazon, I decided to make homemade gifts for our friends and family.
Yes, I can feel the eye rolls! But honestly, homemade gifts for me check all the boxes. They are less expensive, can be made in bulk, save hours of aimless online shopping and are personal since they are from the heart. My friends and family have now started requesting certain gifts annually, which makes it that much easier! I have combined a few of my blog posts for ideas on how to make quick and easy homemade holiday gifts. Hopefully this can help calm down your holiday season, so you can have time to throw on that ugly Christmas sweater and deck those halls.
Happy Holidaying my friends!
